Google My Business adds a ‘Social Media Updates’ section to profiles
This week Google announced some good news for businesses with Google My Business profiles.
The search engine giant is adding a new 'social' section within its Google My Business listings.
This new section will display recent social media posts from your connected profiles. Google Business profiles will now have a new sub-section titled 'Social Media Updates', which displays the latest posts from your linked social apps.
The picture below is an image shared by Search Engine Journal demonstrating how it will look once fully rolled out.
Social channels you can connect to your Google My Business profile are:
Facebook
Instagram

What is Google My Business?
Google My Business is a free tool that allows businesses to manage the way their business appears on Google Search and Maps. With a Google My Business Profile, you can connect with customers, post updates, list your products and services, and accept online orders.
Why This Update Is So Great
Making this small and simple change will ensure your social content is seen by more people with literally no extra effort on your part. Social content you have already created will automatically gain additional exposure.
Repurposing at its very, very best 🙌.
So my advice is to go and check if your social channels are connected to your Google My Business Profile. If they are connected they will show up at the bottom like this 👇
What If Your Social Channels Aren’t Connected?
If your social profiles aren't connected yet, click here for instructions on how to connect them.
It's a super quick job that will take you minutes to implement but gain you plenty of additional exposure in return.
Win, win!
