Social Media Strategy, Canva Templates and Reels Training

Karen Newby is a menopausal nutritionist who specialises in food for medicine. Karen runs retreats and a clinic to guide women through menopause using natural methods. She is also the author of the book The Natural Menopause Method and is a public speaker on her specialist subject.

The Brief

Karen was already an established expert in her field, the objective was to refine the branding for her social media presence, increase brand awareness, trust and bookings, plus grow in line with her competitors.

Social Media Strategy

We decided that a stand-alone strategy that Karen could follow independently would be the best option for her to achieve her business goals. In the strategy, we focused heavily on her audience personas, competitor analysis, content strategy and influencer collaboration strategy.

Canva Templates

Karen also wanted to improve the overall aesthetics of her social media channels so they were more consistent with her brand, values and offers.

So in addition to the strategy, I created a full suite of Canva templates that Karen could amend again and again for all her social content. These designs were inspired by the delightful illustrations in her book The Natural Menopause Method and included highlight covers, Reel covers, carousel and single image post templates.

Once these were implemented on her Instagram profile a strong, recognisable brand was born.

Reels Training

We finished off the project with a session of Reels training so that Karen was up to date with all the latest features plus introduced some brilliant filters and equipment that would allow her to create content that would resonate with her audience.

The Results

On receiving the strategy, Karen dove straight in! Karen was creating consistent content that really spoke to her audience. Content that was helpful, useful and sometimes thought-provoking and entertaining. Her audience was engaging in her content at a higher rate with likes, comments and saves

The aesthetic improvements on her social accounts were instantly noticeable providing a cohesive brand that directly connects to Karen’s beautiful book.

Karen has followed the collaboration strategy we devised perfectly and has focused on collaborating with other thought leaders in her niche. Karen has built strong relationships with well-known accounts and has scheduled Instagram Live sessions to discuss hot topics within the menopause space.

Most recently, Karen joined Davina McCall on Instagram Live which enabled Karen to cross-pollinate and be exposed to Davina’s 1.7m followers who are also Karen’s ideal audience.
